In this article i will explain in brief how to adjust this yourself in about 5 10 minutes. I got my new detent cable installed and after reading all the threads on adjusting it i took the throttle to wot and on my detent you pus down on the d shaped chrome button to open the adjusting ribbed stem so i did that the wot took the cable out to the end of travel of the throttle just fine. Ever since i switched from a 2bbl to a 4bbl many years ago my transmission kickdown on my th350 in my 1972 has been goofy.
