Th350 Detent Cable Leak

It had no sign of front or rear seal leakage so i replaced the filter and pan gasket and then test drove it for several days. Does it seem pssible that it could be losing that much fluid from this location when the car isn t even running. Ct2827 a new kickdown cable detent boot for the th350 turbo 350 and th350c. That makes it really easy to cap. I wouldnt think that the tightly adjusted kickdown would caused it to leak. Please check to be sure your kickdown cable uses a boot type seal not an oring. Detent boot seal th350 transmission for passing gear kickdown cable.

This week i decided to put an end to this leaky madness. Some have just a square cut type o ring sometmes they dont fit right. I currently have a leak coming from the cable dripping on front. I have a mildly built th350 that seems to leak from the detent cable fitting when it sits overnight.

In japan especially in the city there are so many traffic lights and stop signs that the kickdown can actually be completely removed. I am working on a 72 c10 with a 307 350 turbo combination. The plastic cable mounts needs to be removed. Please check to be sure your kickdown cable uses a boot type seal not an oring.

And it seems to almost completely drain the fluid so much that the car will barely move. The kickdown cable port on the th350 transmission is a common issue. I would say it is about 3 8 tall slides over the plastic part that sticks in the trans. So it s perfectly ok to remove it.
