Each student s university id card will be activated allowing access to that student s room on the day of their move in appointment. Housing residence life is responding to the unprecedented challenges that have been presented by the covid 19 pandemic. While in the past this has been a one day event it will now be a multiple day process with various move in blocks. All students should attend at least one floor meeting at the start of the semester. That is why we will continue to monitor conditions closely and if necessary will put more restrictions in place move classes online and if need be send students home.

Incoming students should bring a valid government issued photo id driver s license passport or us military id in order to obtain their university of virginia id card. Students will select their own move in timeslot.
